AHS’s Easter donation to Douglas Macmillan Hospice
After the success of AHS’s Christmas game, where we offered a prize of £500 to the charity of the winner’s choice, we were delighted to follow this up with the AHS ‘Eggstatic’ Easter game.
Nadine of Hortech Ltd was crowned winner after securing the highest score. Nadine chose the Douglas Macmillan Hospice as the charity to receive the £500 prize.
Douglas Macmillan provides care and support to adults with life limiting illnesses in the North Staffordshire area, along with supportive care for their families and carers. All care is provided free of charge, by a team of committed staff. This year, the Hospice needs to raise in excess of £11 million to maintain these services, with 75% of funds coming from voluntary donations.
Last week, Nadine visited the team at Douglas Macmillan to present the cheque from AHS. Nadine said of her meeting “It was lovely to visit the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and meet staff who carry out such an invaluable role within our local community.
They specialise in providing care for patients who are suffering from a life-limiting illness when a cure is no longer possible. It is a charity close to my heart after two family members were cared for by the hospice.
They not only provide care and support for the patient but also the patient’s family in their time of need and the staff are such a credit to us all.
AHS’s Easter game was firstly very addictive and a lot of fun but to end with a £500.00 donation to a charity of your choice was the icing on the cake! It’s a great idea and allows smaller local charities the opportunity of receiving such a considerate donation, of which is very appreciated both by myself and the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.”
Everyone at AHS would like to say well done to Nadine for her skill, determination and patience in winning our Easter game! and thank you for selecting a fantastic cause for us to donate to.
